A-Z Challenge: Facebook

If you are on the internet you have to know about Facebook. Up until recently I loved Facebook. It has been useful for finding old friends, checking out potential employees and employers, finding useful groups, and buy/ sale/ trade pages for selling or buying stuff. For this move especially it has been helpful. Heck, even planning the wedding I found some helpful groups to bounce ideas off of and find things discounted.

But there is also the other side of Facebook. Drama is found very easily on there. Recently I have had friendships tested and lost either about something I have posted or they have posted. Very rarely do I speak out about something that is posted but if it is something that deals with my family, then I will speak my mind. Granted had these conversations happened face to face, words and tones would probably be different.
I am probably going to start pulling away from Facebook soon. I’m still using for information about Iwakuni. My true friends know how to reach me and those ways usually have less drama.

  1. Since I started blogging I hardly ever get on facebook. I think I was on Facebook Sunday more than I have been since January…mostly because I wanted to see everyone’s kiddos for Easter. I reached my account’s 10th birthday this fall and I’m just sort of over it sadly.

FaceBook memories, sometimes pleasant and sometimes dark, but mostly the side effects of a saccharin-coated blue pill
