Bridal And Ice Showers

Magan (my sister, Pam (my mom, and me

Yesterday my mom’s family threw me an amazing bridal shower. I was completely overwhelmed with everything they did. They made amazing snacks like tiny chicken salad biscuits, strawberries with whip cream and blueberries inside them, veggie cups, and Mac and cheese bites. They also made these really cute mini wedding cakes. They also made really cute decorations.

I was surprised by the guests that came. Most are friends I haven’t seen in years. It felt great to reconnect with them. Everyone got me amazing stuff for the kitchen including my dream mixer.

I wish I had gotten more pictures but I kept leaving my phone to go talk to people. I had so much fun yesterday.
My original plan was to spend the night at my mom’s house and then go wedding makeup shopping with my sister today. Unfortunately during dinner our phones went off reporting an ice storm coming in at 4am today. I figured it would be better for me to drive the 3 hours home last night and come back next weekend. I hate that I missed out on girl time with my mom.

  1. Your life sounds fascinating right now… Enjoy and embrace it! Japan is a great place once you stop expecting people to act American. What base are you going to? Best wishes, thanks for checking out my blog!

    1. Thank you! I’m so excited to go. I really don’t want them to act American. I want to go and experience their culture and honestly I want to be forced to learn to speak Japanese (I hope that sounds better than I think it does lol). We are going to Iwakuni. What part of Japan were you in? What were some of your favorite things there?

I love your blog and can’t wait to read more. I wish I knew how to skate!

      1. I just saw this now! Had company for a few days 🙂 I was in ice shows by Sapporo and one down on Kyushu as well. They were tiny resort towns but when I taught English I was in Tokyo and Chiba (kind of like a suburb, even though the Japanese called it “the country”.) I loved going out to eat and all of the festivals they have there! Always something amazing going on. You have an excellent attitude ahead of time! Conpai! (Cheers) 🙂

      2. I’m not even sure they’re still going! They were both at fairgrounds called Mitsui Greenland. They were both old-style, like the old, glamor-filled Ice Capades with one or two top tier skaters as well. Small casts with a theme section for the kids to begin the shows. I was Sailor Moon the 2nd time 🙂 The fairgrounds were outstanding, too- roller coasters like I had never seen before!

  2. Those decorations are so cute! And I LOVE the Kitchenaid mixer. Do you have any idea what makeup you are going to wear at your wedding? I am still trying to decide what I want to do with mine.

    1. Thank you! I loved the decorations too. I still stare at my mixer everyday. I can’t wait to use but I know it is safer staying in the box and waiting to use it in Japan. No clue on the makeup yet. I am meeting with my sister tomorrow to pick it out. She use to do Hollywood special effects props and makeup. You can check out her imdb here.
