Happy New Year!
For the past 3 years or so, I have enjoyed sharing my adventures with you all. I’m not going away, I will keep continuing to sharing our adventures and what we are up to but things will be changing in 2018. First of all, if you haven’t noticed yet, this blog is no longer being called “I Do & Adieu”. While I loved having my blog called that, things are changing and my needs for this blog are changing as well.
The new name reflects how this blog will be about what’s going on with our family. This blog will be more about personal stuff. I originally started this blog to keep family up to date about what’s going on with us while we were stationed so far away. With us PCSing in a few months to who knows where and Jeremy starting with recruiting duty, I wanted to bring this blog back to what it was originally meant to be. Also, I wanted to tie my photography business into my main blog because so often they overlap.
That being said, I will be launching a second blog in a few months time. This one will be directed at my MilSO (Military Significant Other) sisters. Over the years, I have seen younger MilSOs struggling with this life. I try to help out as much as possible in the Facebook groups I’m in but I decided I wanted to do more. So I am starting the new blog. Not only will it have advice on to deal with the challenges and changes that come with loving someone in the military, but it will have basic adult advice. So many times I have seen young MilSOs upset because their Significant Other is deployed or away and the MilSO doesn’t know how to check the oil or air in their car, repair simple things around the house, or how to cook something simple from scratch. I’m not a know it all but I am willing to share what knowledge I have. I will also be having guest bloggers sharing their advice and tips. Hopefully, this will help someone who might be struggling with this craziness that comes with the military. The blog itself doesn’t launch until May 11th (Military Spouse Appreciation Day) but I will be rolling out stuff that goes along with it leading up to the launch.
Since it’s New Year’s Day I guess I need to make some resolutions.
-I want to read 15 books this year.
-Send at least 100 letters out to penpals this year.
-Get another stamp in my passport for another country that isn’t Japan or USA.
-Bake something new every week. I really miss baking and bummed out I never had a chance to even make cookies or pie for Christmas.
What are some your New Year’s Resolutions? What are some of your goals for 2018?
