One of the things I miss most about being in the States is the big holiday celebrations with friends and families. On Thanksgiving we always went to one of my aunts' houses in High Point or Mebane to celebrate with my mom's family. We were home the previous year for it because of Dad's funeral but last year was the first time that we would be celebrating Thanksgiving on our own. Since I was coming in so late the day before Thanksgiving, Jeremy and I decided that for Thanksgiving we would order a meal from JD's (a restaurant here on base). It had a turkey, some sides, and pie already cooked and ready to go. It was nice to sleep in and not have to worry about cooking a lot of food.
Happy Halloween! By the time you read this I would have already started on an extremely long three days. Today is Halloween. I will be taking my students trick or treating tonight. I can't wait to see the kids in their costumes. Jeremy, the cats, and I will be dressing up as well. We are all characters from Supernatural. Jeremy will be Dean, Bagheera is Castiel, Katniss is Amara, and I will be Rowena. I love dressing up and love that I will be a red head again
Today has been busy, busy, busy, dead. All day I felt like I was running out of time. I didn't sleep in for once. I actually slept well for the first time in a really long time. I decided to sleep with an eye mask for the first time ever. It was one we got on our Delta flight when we flew out her in June, 2015. The sun rises super early here in Japan. Like 5 am early. Ugh. Because of the way the blinds in my bedroom lay, the sun is in my face by 5:30am. Way too early for me. The eye mask worked wonders. I wasn't woken up by the sun for the first time since I moved to Japan. Since I slept so well I didn't hit the snooze button a dozen times.
For the first time in a long time I am actually busy everyday. I am happy I am getting out the house and socializing more. I have a bad habit of becoming a hermit when Jeremy goes away. I'm really working hard to change that.
This past week and this week will be full of changes. Last week Jeremy and I started reorganizing things in our apartment. We threw out a lot of things in our storage unit mainly because we haven't seen it in a year and half. Now we moving onto to the various closets in the apartment (there are way too many in here).
