For those of you who haven't been to Southern Japan, it is humid here. On a good day its 60% humidity but during summer and other warm days it can 80%-90% humidity. With A/C it is tolerable but without it, I am dying. One of the things I have started not being able to stand is my hair on my neck. I have been trying to grow it back out but it is at that awkward stage of most it being long enough to put in a ponytail but there is a decent amount at the bottom that is too short for the ponytail and too short and thick to be clipped up without a ton of hairspray. I have been wanting to change it up. So I decided to chop it all off.
This weekend I took part in my first Color Run. The base had a Color Me Aware Color Run down by Penny Lake. You were suppose to wear a certain color to bring awareness to different things.
Over the past few weeks I have been exploring some new places around Iwakuni. I have gotten into a rut eating at the same places especially while Jeremy was in Okinawa. Thankfully my bestie in Japan, Danielle, has been pulling me out of being a hermit to try new places. Since her kids are in school now we have the time to go to lunch or coffee every week. We decided to go try out some new places.
For the first time in a long time I am actually busy everyday. I am happy I am getting out the house and socializing more. I have a bad habit of becoming a hermit when Jeremy goes away. I'm really working hard to change that.
This past week I have been working hard with trying to get my photography business up and running. I have been promoting as much as possible which it is hard to do on this base. We don't have a newspaper to advertise in and the Facebook classifieds I am only allowed to advertise once a week. I'm slowly booking clients but some how I think this would be easier if I was stateside.
One of the reasons I have been so busy is that I finally received approval from the base to officially open Southern Ohana Photography. It has been crazy starting it up but I finally have clients booking appointments! I'm really excited for some of the sessions that I have scheduled in the next couple of weeks. I did want to share with y'all a couple of the awesome sessions I have had already.
