Most everyone I meet loves dogs. Dogs are typically loving and faithful, unlike most humans. In fact, when I meet a human that doesn’t like dogs, I make sure I steer clear of those folks as much as possible. I will trust a dog’s judgment of a person or situation over that of a person’s judgment. In fact, when I first started dating my now husband, I told him that when I took him home to meet my dad, he would also have to pass my dog’s approval as well. Thankfully both Dad and Cujo loved him. My ex before Jeremy did not get along with Cujo at all. I should have listened to Cujo and avoided that heartache but at least listening to Cujo lead me to a long, happy relationship with Jeremy.
The second movie I chose for this week's theme was another one that I hadn't seen before and surprisingly had heard very little of before watching it. All I knew about it was that it was suppose to be one of the scariest films on Netflix in 2018. I don't believe the hype for movies like that because I don't really find a lot of stuff scary. But when I was talking to a friend about this theme and I was trying to decide on what movies to feature, she said I had to watch Veronica. She not only was it really scary but it was based on true events. So I decided that I would give it a chance. I watched the movie before I did any research on the story behind it.
I am a lover of horror movies. Especially creepy ones that deal with spirits, folklore, or urban legends. So when I found out that they are making a movie of La Llorona to be released a few days before my birthday in April, I was over the moon. You can check out the trailer here.
On November 24th, 1892, a young woman checked into the Hotel Del Coronado under the name Lottie A. Bernard. Ms. Bernard claimed to be from Detroit, Michigan. The staff at the Hotel Del Coronado stated that Ms. Bernard was a beautiful well-dressed woman who seemed reserved and ladylike in her manners. The staff also mentioned that Ms. Bernard seemed very troubled and melancholy.
Things around here are still crazy busy but as you know, that’s how I love it. If you have been following my social media, you already know that Rampu has been pretty active this weekend. I even managed to catch him turning on on video! Normally he is camera shy and won’t turn on or off until shortly after I lower my phone or camera. Friday morning Rampu woke me up by flashing on and off quite a bit around 5am. I’m happy he did because I got to watch a gorgeous sun rise. I have never seen lilac colored skies before. I think he was active because later Friday morning we had a few thunderstorms come through the area.
