Last Day In Kyoto

Our last day in Kyoto was a little more relaxed than our previous traveling days. We decided to sleep in before we started out on our last little bit of adventures. After grabbing some breakfast we walked back over to the train depot. We would ultimately be leaving from Kyoto via the Shin from that station. Jeremy and I took our luggage to a locker room located within the station so we wouldn't have to carry it everywhere.

Fishing For A Good Time (Osaka & Kyoto Part Two)

On Day Two in Osaka we decided to check out the aquarium. On the way to the metro we stopped off for lunch. We found a cute little shop on a street that looked like Hondori Street. We walked in and we were instantly confused. People were lining up at a machine, punching something in and then going to sit at the bar. We stood at the machine when it was our turn until someone showed us what to do. You put your order into the machine and then it prints out a ticket. You take the ticket to the counter to be served. The food was good and the experience was interesting.

Row Row Row Your Boat

One of the things I have seen often around the Kintai-kyo are the Japanese boats along the shore. I have been wanting take a ride in them for a while but haven't seen when they would be offering the rides when I was available to do it. Jeremy and I went down to the Kintai one weekend to see a matchlock gun demonstration. We walked all around the area but couldn't find where the display was going to be. Instead we found the boats and they were getting ready to take people out onto the Nishiki River. Jeremy and I decided to do that instead.

Oops and Uh-ohs

Today has been a long day. Ever have one of those mornings where you simply can't get out of bed? No matter how much you sleep its just not enough? That was today for me. I went to bed pretty late because I had company last night. Some Marines had come over because they had some questions about paranormal stuff. We tried to get Al to talk to use but nothing really happened. They left about midnight and I went to bed about an hour later. I ended up sleeping until noon which I really hate to do because it makes the day feel wasted.

Getting Our Yayas Out With The Gabas In Kyoto (Part Two)

Day two of our trip to Kyoto started off wet. The rain was nice while we slept but once we woke up we realized we had to figure out how to get to the car in the rain with all our luggage. We decided to put it off until after breakfast with the hopes that the rain would eventually stop. We found a cool little bakery that was underground at a mall near the hostel. I really enjoyed the pastries that we had.

Getting Our Yayas Out With The Gabas In Kyoto (Part One)

Jeremy and I were heading to Kyoto the day after the big earthquake with our friends, Stephanie and Anthony. We were all excited to explore a new part of Japan. My main reason of going was to see Geisha and some of the temples in Kyoto. We were only going to spend the night in Kyoto and come back the next day, so we had a lot to squeeze in a short amount of time.
