I have talked about my friend, Dacia, before in this blog. We met earlier this year and have gotten really close over this summer. She is a lot of fun and we have a lot of the same interests. Unfortunately a few weeks ago she found out that she is having to PCS much sooner than we expected. She was suppose to PCS back next summer like us. Instead she is leaving the beginning of December. I know I am going to miss her.
Over the past few weeks I have been exploring some new places around Iwakuni. I have gotten into a rut eating at the same places especially while Jeremy was in Okinawa. Thankfully my bestie in Japan, Danielle, has been pulling me out of being a hermit to try new places. Since her kids are in school now we have the time to go to lunch or coffee every week. We decided to go try out some new places.
As every military spouse knows once the husband is away for any long periods of time stuff starts falling apart and going wrong. I knew stuff would happen. It always does whenever Jeremy is gone for a long period of time. If he is gone for a week or two, everything is typically fine. Anything past that and life goes crazy.
Today was my first day at the Rib House. I actually enjoyed it. It felt great to be actually working again. Yeah I am basically making minimum wage but its something. Plus I am actually feeling productive again. It has been over 18 months since I worked a legitimate job. Yes I know teaching is a job but it is only an hour a week. It feels different to actually go to work and punch a time clock. I feel like an adult again. This base has had me feeling like a child for a while.
This past week and this week will be full of changes. Last week Jeremy and I started reorganizing things in our apartment. We threw out a lot of things in our storage unit mainly because we haven't seen it in a year and half. Now we moving onto to the various closets in the apartment (there are way too many in here).
