Over the past couple of weeks, the activity at our house has been picking up. I don't know if it was because it was getting closer to Halloween, the spirits were feeding off my stress levels leading up to the Marine Corps Ball, or maybe the spirit(s) in the house are feeling more comfortable with us. Whatever it is, things have definitely been interesting.
As y'all know I was away the last few weeks in North Carolina visiting my family. This is the longest I have been away from Jeremy by choice (as oppose to the military sending him away) and definitely the longest I have been away from the cats and our spirits. I missed them. And judging by the messages and pictures I received while gone, it's safe to say they all missed me too.
A lot of people have sent me questions about supposedly haunted objects or dolls being sold on eBay and other similar platforms. Since I hadn't dealt with anything like that personally, Jeremy and I decided to try it out.
As much as I love Champaign, I have been a little homesick for Japan lately. I know I'm not the only one. Jeremy is missing the food and Katniss is missing the festivals. Thankfully the campus was having a great little festival at the Japan House on base. Jeremy and I decided to take Katniss to it.
If you have visited the blog anytime this week, you probably noticed a few changes. I decided to combine my current blog with my previous blog. It seemed like a waste to not work on my previous blog after 3 years but I don't have time to juggle two blogs at this time. If you are only familiar with my paranormal blog, I recommend going back and reading some of my posts from my original blog. I got to see and experience quite a few neat things in Japan. Plus there are quite a few more posts about Al, Dad, and Rampu in my previous blog. You can use the search function to look for certain topics or scroll through the posts to get to the previous blog.
Things around here are still crazy busy but as you know, that’s how I love it. If you have been following my social media, you already know that Rampu has been pretty active this weekend. I even managed to catch him turning on on video! Normally he is camera shy and won’t turn on or off until shortly after I lower my phone or camera. Friday morning Rampu woke me up by flashing on and off quite a bit around 5am. I’m happy he did because I got to watch a gorgeous sun rise. I have never seen lilac colored skies before. I think he was active because later Friday morning we had a few thunderstorms come through the area.
One question Jeremy and I receive the most often is “Why do you choose to live with ghosts?”. I know that seems odd especially considering how all the shows seem to show ghosts and spirits either terrifying the residents or being a nuisance to the residents or the people working in the business. Our spirits are our friends. They comfort us when we need it. They let us know we aren’t alone. They are a friend to talk to when we need someone to talk to. They also make us smile and laugh. Who wouldn’t want to have that in their lives?
When this post goes live I will either be moving into our new home or about to fly back to states to start the move process. Either way, I will be quite busy. I apologize if it takes a few days to respond to emails, comments or messages.
A few months after Jeremy and I moved to Japan, my Dad passed away suddenly. He was a great man and I miss him a lot. Even though it’s been 2.5 years, I sometimes still struggle with it. After he passed I wrote post on Southern Ohana telling about his life. I highly recommend reading it before reading the rest of this post. Knowing who he was will help understand why I know my dad comes to visit me.
