Last week my friend, Julie, helped me arrange an amazing opportunity. I had found out that one of her friends dresses people in gorgeous kimonos. I asked Julie if she could ask her friend would let me take pictures next time she was dressing someone. Julie messaged me back saying that her friend, Kazue, was going to be dressing some people for a performance that weekend and that I was invited to come take pictures.
Back in April, Jeremy, Marcus, Charrleen and I went to the town of Tsuwano in Shimane Prefecture. We had heard about a festival that was going on there that we really wanted to check out. It was a Yabusame festival. Yabusame is a horseback archery tournament and the yabusame course in Tsuwano is the last remaining original one in Japan.
While Jeremy was making dinner on Valentine's day, I was researching the fertility festival. During my research I found out there was a very interesting shrine in Yamaguchi Prefecture (the prefecture we live in). It is a phallic shrine. Welcome to Japan... Where the weird just gets weirder.
