A couple of weeks ago it was Bagheera's birthday. Since he is much pickier about his stuff than Katniss is, Jeremy and I weren't sure what to do to celebrate his birthday. He didn't like balls, hair ties, or scary movies like Katniss. He is also is pickier about his treats than her. We were stumped.
One of the things Mom really wanted to see when she came to visit was the Atomic Bomb Dome in Hiroshima.
This past week and this week will be full of changes. Last week Jeremy and I started reorganizing things in our apartment. We threw out a lot of things in our storage unit mainly because we haven't seen it in a year and half. Now we moving onto to the various closets in the apartment (there are way too many in here).
One of the things you learn quickly living on a base is to avoid the commissary on Pay Day. Everyone shops like it is the last time the commissary will be open for a while. I typically am able to avoid the madness by putting off my shopping until later but today I needed to get some groceries since this was a three week long paycheck (I hate those). I was quickly upset by what I saw there.
One of the stores I have mentioned often in my posts is Daiso. It is by far my favorite store. Most of the things in Daiso is around ¥100 ($0.88) and occasionally some things are more expensive. The most expensive thing I found there was ¥800 ($7). While the items they sell are inexpensive, the items are nice quality, especially the dishes. They change their items out often with the various seasons and holidays. It's fun to go see what new things they have.
This morning I decided to have a lazy day. I slept in until 10am and then just lounged around the hotel and flipping back and forth between Shark Week and Lifetime movies.
